New Moon in Taurus May 2026: Set Intentions Between Two Full Moons in May
A New Moon is a well-known lower-energy phase in the lunar cycle - a natural reset point where life feels quieter, the body slows down, and clarity starts to rebuild from within. With all of the energies we have been experiencing since the end of last year though, it can feel like a hamster on a wheel trying practice the pause when the wheel is still turning really fast!
If that’s not how you’ve been feeling lately, you’re not alone.
Are you off track or just trying to recalibrate something that you haven't been taught to recognize yet? That question alone can create even more uncertainty because when the nervous system is recalibrating without awareness, the mind tends to fill in the blanks.
That’s when thoughts like “I’m tired for no reason,” “I feel emotionally off but I can’t explain why,” or “I should be able to handle this better” start to show up. And from there, it’s easy to slip into pressure - like the need to fix it, push through it, or figure it out as quickly as possible.
Since the end of 2025, we have been hit with intense energies from all angles - this week is no exception! Instead of feelings fully resolving before the next layer appears, it can feel like wave after wave of awareness, without enough space in between to fully sink in.
That’s often when life starts to feel blurry because there hasn’t been a natural pause point for integration. And this is where this Taurus New Moon becomes meaningful.
This new moon in Taurus is a quiet moment between energies. A soft invitation to stop interpreting everything for a moment and come back into yourself.
There’s a reason people tend to feel more inward during this phase. Energy naturally drops. External noise softens. The internal world becomes more noticeable, in a way that reveals what’s actually been there underneath everything else.
And as the world slows down for a moment, the inner dialog gets louder and what often rises isn’t confusion - it’s awareness. Subtle, honest, unfiltered awareness of what has been sitting beneath the surface.
You might feel more tired than usual, feel more emotional or sensitive, have a lower tolerance for noise or pressure, or a quiet disconnection from motivation or direction. Not in a way that feels like everything is falling apart (like a spiritual awakening can), but in a way that feels like taking a step back.
And this is where it becomes important to understand what’s actually happening.
This is when a shift actually happens - because when we are able to slow down enough, integration can finally begin.
It’s a shift out of output mode and into restoration.
Clarity doesn’t usually arrive when you push for it. It returns when there’s enough quiet for your system to stop bracing against itself.
And if you’ve been in a longer stretch of emotional or identity change, this New Moon can feel like a centering point inside all of it. Not because everything is suddenly resolved, but because you finally stop adding to the internal noise long enough to feel what’s actually true underneath it.
And in that space, something subtle but important happens: you start to hear yourself again. Not the version that analyzes everything, but the quieter one beneath it. The one that already knows what feels heavy. The one that already knows what no longer fits. The one that doesn’t need convincing, just attention.
So this isn’t a time for forcing clarity or trying to get everything figured out. It’s a time for allowing a pause without turning it into a problem.
Because sometimes the most meaningful shifts don’t come from what you add to your life, but from what you finally stop carrying long enough to realize it was never meant to be held in the same way.
For this New Moon energy, I’ve been really intentional about the crystals I’m working with, because energetically the last stretch of time has been intense for a lot of people. There’s been a lot of emotional processing, internal noise, and that sense of not quite being able to feel quite grounded and centred.
So right now, the focus isn’t activation - it’s regulation, clarity, and gentle realignment.
Energetically, Lepidolite is bang on for a nervous system reset. It’s my go-to stone for anxiety and emotional overwhelm, and with how intense energies have felt since the end of 2025, it’s no surprise that so many people feel drawn to it right now.
Fluorite is also really supportive energetically for focus and clarity. I often see it as helping to remove negative energy from within, especially that looping negative self-talk that so many people are working to shift into something more balanced and supportive.
Obsidian is one of my favourite protection stones, but it also brings grounding and stabilization. It has a way of cutting through distortion so you can see what’s actually going on underneath everything, and from that place it can support clearer decision-making around your next steps.
Labradorite holds that space of connection, protection, and transformation. Energetically, it’s especially supportive when you’re in-between versions of yourself - when you’re not who you were, but you’re not fully anchored into what’s next yet.
Black Moonstone is a beautiful New Moon beauty for intuition, connection, protection, and softening the edges. It helps keep things emotionally spacious without becoming overwhelming, especially during quieter, more inward lunar phases like this one.
I’ll also be posting a reel on YouTube and across social media so you can see these beauties up close - and I have a big box of crystals waiting to be unpacked when I get home from Medicine Hat, so be sure to check back for close-up views of those as well.
This New Moon in Taurus which is ruled by Venus, is a powerful time to set intentions around:
• home
• finances
• love & relationships
• stability
• self-worth
And with TWO Full Moons in May, this energy is amplifying quickly.
Pay attention to what you’re being pulled toward now…speak your intentions clearly out loud and get ready for your wishes to some true with the Blue Moon at the end of the month.
And if you’ve been feeling that subtle pull inward lately, remember to listen to your own intuition first. Not the noise, not the overthinking, not the pressure to figure everything out - just that quieter sense of what feels aligned for you underneath it all.
What I’m noticing right now, especially for so moving through emotional noise, overstimulation, and internal questioning, is that intuition isn’t missing - it’s just being drowned out by everything else.
For this reason, I am being called to offer my workshop: Ignite Your Intuition for the first time in 4 years! I’ll be sharing more about the workshop soon. For now, I just want to leave you with this:
If this is stirring something in you, don’t rush to define it.
Just notice it.
That noticing is often where reconnection begins.
